A busy start!

What a busy first few weeks in class 8. We have all settled well, including our new member of the class - Rhys Morgan - croeso Rhys! Our topic "Ble wyt ti'n byw?" is well under way and children are coming up with their own ideas regarding what they would like to learn. I hope you all received our newsletter outlining how you can support your child's learning at home. The children are enjoying various literacy activities based around the Winnie the Witch books - and peruaded me to set up a Winnie role play in the classroom - great fun. We have been writing our own magic spells - diolch Jack for your unique spell book - or smell book as you've called it! We all went to forest school this week - please remember to bring in wellies if you have not already done so! And a reminder - PE day is Monday! hwyl am y tro! Mrs Decaro and Mrs Porter

An audience with Peter Rabbit aka Farah !
here we are on world book day!

Busy busy busy!

Is it really half term already? Our theme is well under way, our travel agent well used. We enjoyed a visit from Mrs Rees - a real live travel agent- who told us all about her work and modelled how to use our role play. Diolch yn fawr Mrs Rees!We have a lot of budding travel agents in our class this year - the conversations overheard are enthralling! It is worth coming over to read the customer feedback comments left on our wall ! Don't forget your homework task -  to interview an adult about their favourite holiday- I am looking forward to reading your interviews.
We were excited to receive   a letter from Nellie of Abertwt asking us to help her to make  a striped lollipop for her ice cream parlour.....We worked hard trying to  think through this task....and many of us succeeded! We ate our lollipops this morning - and evaluated our efforts - all thinking of ways of how to improve our lollipops if we made them again.
The queen came to visit us last Friday apparently....(I was in Llangrannog with Year 6 so I missed her) and enjoyed our marching music and parading organised by Mrs Maunder....great fun!
Have a lovely half term- hope the sun stays shining!

Blwyddyn newydd dda!

Happy new year everybody! We are all busy in class 8 looking at our new topic - "Magic moments". The children are buzzing with stories about their special memories and eager to share their special photographs to produce a time line in their zig zag books. Our show and tell sessions started with Sydney and her golden retrievers Chance and Hope, followed by Luke Usher with Winston, his new puppy. They were both very knowledgable and told us all about how they look after the dogs and some funny stories about them...
Next week we are going to be setting up our Snowdon cafe role play in the classroom ....
